A Silent Sweet Song

Image
Life is so dreamy, yet so beautiful and brief, like a silent, sweet river song flows through the vast landscape of mind. Painting, acrylic on paper, 30 x 22 in.

My Heart is Like an Ocean

Image
Knowing that all are impermanent, transient, my heart is tender like an ocean that holds everything. What remains will be the stars, the wind, the echo in the air, the flickering light reflections on the water... All are forgivable, but not forgettable. My heart is like an ocean holds the everlasting love. Painting, oil on canvas, 18 x 42 in. My Heart is Like an Ocean

If There's a Moon There's a Poet

Image
If there's a moon, there's a poet; If there's a bird, there's a song; If there's a child, there's joy; If there's a war, there's only sorrow. Poem written Apr. 17, 2022 Painting, acrylic on wood, 12 x 9 in. If There's a Moon There's a Poet

Auspicious River

Image
Live long, live short, It doesn't matter. The mind continues. "The time is an illusion," wise people said that. I look into my life, life before, life ahead, The rich, dreamy experiences of coming and going. All is in flux. All is transitory. The profound consciousness remains. Tell me how to cut the water of river in half, Show me the way to divide time. The continuum of time is endless. Not here, not there. The energy manifests and changes; I can feel it. I am not too bright, I cannot see far, I don't know what is supposed to be. What's coming. The memory of time is deep in the forest, The green moss and stone walls scattered, In there I left my flute, But the melody still echoing. "Time River" - A poem written in 2018 re-write in 2022 Acrylic on canvas. 26 x 54 in. Auspicious River

Adhishthana, The Blessings

Let’s leap into the space, Let's enjoy it We have done this many, many times Don’t be afraid of the fresh air The total freedom of free falling The unimaginable distance - that is an illusion Here and now, and the solidity of non-solidity Because we never leave, we never come  The space and time of nowness is at our hands I am here with you as always Your blessings, your love - are here forever Let's give, let's receive, Let us play - with courage My painting here: Adhishthana, acrylic on canvas. 42 x 22 inches Adhishthana

Waiting for Spring

Image
I lost my tongue this winter I got very  quiet, sit well,  Stare into the white space a lot. Sometimes I read some newspapers, And the antsy black prints hurt my mind's peace. The world is very, very loud right now: I heard the geese, the squirrels, cars and trains, Human fighting, animal biting. I heard the  snow flaks falling, too. This winter I've gone into  An amazing white land of bliss. Where every color is so vibrant with lights, Even the vulture is in rainbow colors! I heard music of flutes, Flowing as the melting brooks. Ice bumps into each other, dead grass revived, And my heart is warm again. This winter is indeed a good season, And the spring is just around the corner! Let's breathe a little bit - Into the cool air, with our heat and hope. Waiting for Spring, acrylic on wood. 24 x 24 inches Waiting for Spring

The Streets of Love and Hate

Image
The Subtlety of Gray, acrylic on canvas, 36 x 36 inches The streets of love, and the streets of hate. The feeling of not enough, and the feeling of hurt. Wanting and more wanting, Trying to get praise and respects. Let it go, let it go, drop them all, from now on. The streets of happiness, and the streets of sorrow. The streets of greed, The streets of despise. The streets of unwelcome The street of scare… The streets that I've never known they exist And the hidden corners, on the dark side of the streets. The streets of thieves, The streets of robbers, The streets of hookers, And the streets of humans, mothers and fathers, Brothers and sisters. The streets of angels and the streets of devils. The streets of grays. The grays that have no names. (Inspired by my mom's dream: when my grandfather told her: Don't walk on that road... ) Yeachin Tsai Fine Art

Up and Down

Image
You can be happy, If you find the strength within, With or without me. The shiny pearl, the tiny amber, of joy and love. It is always in your heart. If you can see it, you won't be lonely again, not for long. With or without me. Up and down movements of the floating world "Life is naturally fraught with ups and downs." I am bruised, and battered, You as well, I know. And it is all fine, my friend, If we have faith in the timeless beauty within. The darkness comes upon me, and the cheerful sun breaks the clouds. In the ups and downs of emotions, Dance with me, slowly. Winter snow, Dreams of warmth and heat. The memory of home, Maybe it's not too far? If you Feel. Yeachin Tsai Floating World

Sunflower No. 7

Image
That summer we lost our beacon, We drifted on the vast, turbulent sea, we are so lonesome! We cried every morning. At night we searched for Sirius, the brightest on the horizon. We drank to oblivion. We fell and dreamt of our kingdom. Far, far away... No home, No friends, The lonely travelers kept going. The damp smell of sea salt and gin.  The sounds of screaming, shouting, mocking Midnight howling, And the wild, wild karmic wind. In the magic realm of the seen and unseen world, The eternal sunshine of the spotless mind shines. With crystal tears, We vow to keep sailing Sailing on this endless ocean of joy, sorrow, and the mixtures...... We are only human, you know. Poem and painting by Yeachin Tsai Sunflower Series No. 7. Image
The song of the spring, the abundance of lives; It bubbles up in the muddy pond, it is screaming: "I am here to live!" The crowded little environment filled with energies and sounds. After the Rain

Image
After the rain the world is clean and fresh! The brush marks are dancing, and my mind is cooling and clam... Delighting in Rain on a Spring Night By Du Fu (杜甫) A good rain knows its proper time; It waits until the Spring moment. It drifts in with the wind, slips in by night, Its fine drops nourish everything, yet make no sound. The paths between the fields are cloaked with dark clouds, A river-skiff’s light is still burning. When the day dawns, we’ll see splashes of wet red  Flowers in Chengdu City, weighed down by the rain. Acrylic  on canvas. 23 x 54 in. See SaatchiArt.com for detail

Be Yourself, Be True

Image
Be yourself, be true, No other things need to do. A loud thunder, a swift wind, Life is all there is. Scattered raindrops on the muddy road. Let it be real. Let it be you. This full moment of you. Don't lie any more. No time to be sweet... Be yourself and be be true. Don't be afraid. Just go ahead. Sailing on the blue turquoise sea. Going deeper and further... Go ahead. My heart is full of the beauty of sorrow today. For the day is a new day. With or without me. Be yourself. Be true. ~To a dear friend. On a sad day. Yeachin Image: Dragon's Claw
