Artwork for David Attenborough’s Ocean

Image
Golden Wave © Yeachin Tsai Growing up in Taiwan, a small, beautiful green island in the vast Pacific Ocean, I was always fascinated by the display of natural power of typhoon season. Those magnificent waves have become one of my major painting motifs. I am extremely honored to have my artwork “Golden Wave” “Golden Wave” chosen for the cover of this book. Auspicious River

Image
Live long, live short, It doesn't matter. The mind continues. "The time is an illusion," wise people said that. I look into my life, life before, life ahead, The rich, dreamy experiences of coming and going. All is in flux. All is transitory. The profound consciousness remains. Tell me how to cut the water of river in half, Show me the way to divide time. The continuum of time is endless. Not here, not there. The energy manifests and changes; I can feel it. I am not too bright, I cannot see far, I don't know what is supposed to be. What's coming. The memory of time is deep in the forest, The green moss and stone walls scattered, In there I left my flute, But the melody still echoing. "Time River" - A poem written in 2018 re-write in 2022 Acrylic on canvas. 26 x 54 in. Auspicious River

The Big Wave

Image
If you are big, Nothing can stop you. The difficulty of life, the pain and tears, everything would enrich you. If you are big, the sky above, the earth you stand on, the water below - they will support you. You will open your senses: The vast mind, the big heart, Will hear the cries and laughters, Will see all the colors and forms, Will feel hot and cold, sad and joy, The spectrum of all emotions. You will fly over the world and beyond, if You are truly big. Not fake. Following the wave, Riding on the wind. Seeing the light, and so be it. If you are big, you are not afraid. Not afraid of being human. We could big and humble, at the same time... Painting: The Wave 01, acrylic on wood panel. 18 x 18 inches, 2019 new series. (Inspired by Hokusai's Wave and Lina Wertmüller's movie Swept Away.) Yeachin Tsai Fine Art

Abstract Waves

Image
I am not a mystic. However, taking a walk in the woods in autumn, we can truly connect to the elements in the nature world: the leaves are changing colors and falling; the clouds moving dramatically, sometimes reveal some patches of clear blue sky; the smell and touch sensations of a pine tree forest. The vultures and hawks are flying effortlessly, riding on the wind. Everything is in harmony. Everything is communicating with each other - only our thoughts block us from perceiving this. Our worries, fears, emotions, our big ego and ideas are in our way... There are inner connections that we cannot see but we can feel. On this beautiful planet earth, if we aspire to, we can feel and care for each other, as best as we can. Acrylic on paper mounted on canvas. 17 x 38 in.

Sunflower No. 7

Image
That summer we lost our beacon, We drifted on the vast, turbulent sea, we are so lonesome! We cried every morning. At night we searched for Sirius, the brightest on the horizon. We drank to oblivion. We fell and dreamt of our kingdom. Far, far away... No home, No friends, The lonely travelers kept going. The damp smell of sea salt and gin.  The sounds of screaming, shouting, mocking Midnight howling, And the wild, wild karmic wind. In the magic realm of the seen and unseen world, The eternal sunshine of the spotless mind shines. With crystal tears, We vow to keep sailing Sailing on this endless ocean of joy, sorrow, and the mixtures...... We are only human, you know. Poem and painting by Yeachin Tsai Sunflower Series No. 7.
