Fart!

The Zen story goes like this: There was a practitioner (also a famous poet) after long time of sitting, he was really proud of his accomplishment; he wrote a poem describing how good his sitting was. So the master tested him by saying: "He is nothing but a fart!" The practitioner heard this got very upset, he ran across the river to argue with the master. And the master smiled: "You said your meditative power is so strong, nothing can move you now - but just the air of a fart can blow you over!"

Chinese calligraphy, "Fart". Black sumi ink on acid-free cardboard. 7 x 7 in. Signed with the artist's seal of a sun.
